Colourless sunset over Hervey Bay

I was visiting my Mum in hospital after her knee replacement surgery recently & as I was in Hervey Bay I thought I’d race over to Scarness to get a sunset photo with the jetty in the foreground. Well I obviously only visit this area while they are on holidays in Hervey Bay mid year, as I’ve always managed to get sunset over the water!! But not so at this time of the year!!!!

Oh well it wasn’t really a colourful sunset either, but I like the light I captured on the clouds

Mum & Dad’s roses

Mum & Dad have some beautiful roses growing in their front garden. I took a few photos after we had a heavy shower of rain…. good timing really as after the rain it allowed me to capture some rain drops on them.

Run down old queenslander

I used to go past this house practically everyday when I lived back home in Maryborough & I always remembered it being a bit run down.

It’s amazing but someone still lives in this house…… look at the beautiful new roof! You should see the state of the verandah on the other side – even worse than the front…..lol

I was telling my Mum how I’d been taking some photos of older houses & when I showed her this one, she said a relative lives here…. OMG really!!…. obviously distant relative that I don’t really know…lol

Oh my goodness I cannot believe it has been this long since I posted on my blog….. how bad am I!!!

I travelled up to Maryborough for a few days to visit my Mum after her knee replacement surgery last week & thought I really should take some photos of my old home town while there.

This is the sculpture outside the Brolga Theatre

It almost looks like it’s warning me of the approaching storm…. lol

Little Preston

I’ve travelled to Melbourne – Victoria, this week for help celebrate some important milestones for my little nephew Preston. He turned ONE on Thursday, and since I don’t get to see him that much due to the distance between where my brother & sister-in-law live here in Melbourne & me in Brisbane – Queensland, I just had to make the trip to celebrate with the family & of course get lots of Aunty cuddles & spoil him.

We all think he’s very cute, so thought I had to share a photo I took on my first day visiting him (on Wednesday)

We are celebrating his Christening today as well, so lots of family from both sides will be spoiling him

Maddi

Oh dear where has the time gone since I last blogged here….sorry!

Thought I’d share a photo of my beloved dog Maddi.

We took her for a walk to Victoria Point a few weeks ago as I wanted some nice photos of her, since we had a scare a day or so prior with her having a tick. I always have a tick collar on her as with her long hair it makes it hard to check, but my son put the new collar on our new puppy Shadow, rather than Maddi & he has now learnt how valuable these collars are. Lucky for Maddi the tick wasn’t a paralysis one, although she was quite sick from the adverse reaction she had to it and it took her a while to come back to her old self.

I love how we finally got some lovely light on her as the sun was setting.

These were after the walk, hence her tongue hanging out!

I have a few others I really like but I wanted the sunlight on her, but I’ll be back to share those another day.

Now if I can ever get Shadow the puppy to sit still I shall endeavour to take some nice photos of her too. She is a Kelpie-Cattle dog cross, so yes you guessed it she is very active!! My side yard is a testament to that with quite a few holes everywhere…..lol

Sunrise over Manly boat harbour

Went out to do sunrise photos yesterday at Manly (Queensland).

When the sun came up it had a real red haze to it from all the smoke from bush fires around the area of late.

This was one of my favourite shots of the morning, no post production editing (except framing it)

Morning glow

I took this photo on the weekend when up at the Sunshine Coast – just as the sun was coming up. I love the morning glow on the boat just sitting waiting patiently for it’s owner.

Love the way the netting is ’protecting’ the boat from perhaps being invaded by the local pelicans.

Early morning start

Went up to visit my lovely friend Marie at Pelican Waters over the weekend. She has just moved back to Queensland after living in Perth for a few years, it’s so nice for her to be back “home”. Her hubby was away working so it was nice to be able to keep her company.

We all got up early this morning to catch a sunrise, but there were no clouds so that was disappointing, but still nice to see that morning glow.

I felt this photo was telling a story…… with the fisherman heading out for an early morning start.

The night before we had looked up some aerial maps of the area & found this little jetty just up the road from Marie’s place & hence didn’t have to get up too early to get there in time….lol

Would have loved some clouds though

Thanks for your wonderful hospitality Marie! Roast lamb dinner and bacon & egg breakfast….how spoilt were we!! Look forward to seeing more of you both.
